Brewery Tour and Social

Join the Institute of Water Midlands for an exclusive behind‑the‑scenes tour of Birmingham Brewing Company, one of the city’s best‑known independent craft beer makers. Stay after for some food and networking at the venue which is right next to one of Birmingham's canals. Brewing is a water‑intensive process. This visit offers a brilliant opportunity to ask a master brewer how their process manages water quality, efficiency, reuse and waste across its operations. During the private guided tour, attendees will hear firsthand how water flows through each stage of the brewing process, the controls needed to protect product quality, and the practical steps taken to minimise wastage and manage trade effluent — bringing familiar water‑industry challenges into a very different operational setting. The tour will include a beer tasting session. Following the tour, attendees are invited (entirely optionally) to stay on for a post‑tour social in the taproom, where Birmingham Brewing Company offer bar snacks and freshly made pizzas. This is a great chance to continue conversations, network with fellow water professionals, and unwind after the visit. Spaces are limited, so early booking is strongly recommended.
